FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

Organized in 1989, the Friends of the Burleson Public Library is nonprofit and is comprised of individuals, businesses, and organizations with a mutual goal of support for the library.

The Friends of the library:

  1. Sponsor and underwrite programs for the library that are not included in the budget.

  2.  Serve as ambassadors of goodwill for the library.
  3.  Encourage citizens to use the library and its services.
  4.  Purchase books, videos, magazine subscriptions, audio tapes, audio equipment and puppets for Story Time.
  5.  Volunteer time and resources for regular daily tasks and special projects.
  6.  Recognize and encourage volunteers from the community.

  7.  Conduct on-going fund raising projects such as book sales, bricks for books, and note card sales.

  8. Sponsor special events, such as contests, programs, receptions.

You should become a member of the Friends because:

  1. You recognize the educational and recreational value of the library to the community.

  2.  Your participation is the only way this volunteer organization can continue to extend its services to the library.

  3.  You work with people who appreciate the library and its services.

Friends business and planning meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, at 10 a.m., in the conference room  at the Burleson Public Library. Members will receive notification of special events and meetings. For further information, call the library at  817 295-6131 x 264
