New York Times Bestselling Writer,

Charles Shields,

Author of

Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee

Speaking at the Hill College/Texas Wesleyan Auditorium

April 8 at 6:30pm

The title of Shield's talk is, "Harper Lee: A Literary Mystery."

The 40-minute presentation covers why Shields chose to write a biography of Miss Lee; the surprises he encountered along the way, including her efforts to discourage friends from speaking to him; the parallels between To Kill A Mockingbird and Miss Lee's Life; and the reasons why Harper Lee never published a second book.  A 20-minute question-and-answer period will follow the talk.
